SB 2292  RELATING TO INSURANCE CODE                           CPN/HHS
        Clarifies federal statutory citation in HRS that requires group
        and individual health insurance to comply with the federal
        Health Insurance Portability Act of 1996.

SB 2319  RELATING TO HOSPITALS                           CPN/HHS, WAM
        Establishes an independent commission to oversee and regulate
        hospital rates and charges to ensure affordable emergency and
        in-patient health care to the general public.

SB 2976  RELATING TO NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS         CPN/HHS, WAM
        Establishes continuing education requirements for nursing home
        administrators.  Allows the Department of Commerce and Consumer
        Affairs to contract with private educational and testing
        entities to certify continuing education requirements.

SB 2023  RELATING TO LONG TERM CARE                      CPN/HHS, WAM
        Requires 20% of moneys in emergency and budget reserve fund to
        be transfered upon receipt to long-term care insurance premium
        special fund to pay for a portion of LTC insurance premiums for
        persons 65 and older on sliding income scale.
        
SB 2062  RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE                      HHS/CPN, WAM
        Amends Act 93, SLH 1999, to extend actuarial study on long-term
        care from November 15, 1999, to November 15, 2001; to extend
        sunset date of joint committee from June 30, 2000, to June 30,

 
        2002; to clarify requirements for the actuarial study; and to
        make unspecified appropriations for the study and JLC expenses.

committee clerk, Room 202, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing.
Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate

islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter,
wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled), please
contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can
be made.
